The LEARNING NETWORK is a Possibilities community focused around life-long learners who have sustained a brain injury.

The Learning Network provides a place to dream about life goals and roles, to create plans and strategies to move in the direction of those dreams, and to create caring, supportive Communities -- Learning Network Members supporting each other as well the broader community of friends and relatives who can Partner our Members to move in their preferred directions.

What Will You Be Doing?:

  • Developing and implementing functional courses and activities that empower and promote the ability of Learning Network Members to live independently and interdependently in communities.
  • Championing Learning Network Members’ work toward personal learning goals.
  • Providing a liaison between a Member and his or her Learning Partners by to gather, share, and apply relevant information
  • Coaching Members and their Partners to help them create the life they dream of 

How will you do this? By:

  • Developing, implementing, teaching and promoting functional courses and activities delivered to groups or individuals that will help people move ahead in their personal life goals
  • Supporting Learning Network Members to identify personal goals and strategies
  • Meeting the cognitive, physical, or emotional needs of Network Members by developing and using necessary Learning "Aids"
  • Providing a Contact for External Partners
  • Assisting Learning Services Members and their Network Partner(s) to create sharing, supportive community links directly, where appropriate
  • Maintaining Learning Network Member records about progress towards their goals and effective Learning strategies
  • Providing ongoing learning feedback

What do you need to join the Learning Network Team?

  • Experience providing services to people with acquired brain injury or related experience
  • Demonstrated Commitment to practices of personal empowerment, inclusion, interdependence, and life-long learning.
  • Personal career goals that include related areas (e.g., teaching, community integration, advocacy, coaching, mediation)
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Knowledge of and experience with learning and performance technologies (e.g., computer, internet, PDA, TTY, etc) to assist learners
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in adult learning principles and group dynamics
  • Learning-on-the-job skills and Willingness to acquire knowledge and skills in areas of less experience.

This is a Part Time position with hours averaging 22.5 per week (3 days per week). Currently Thursdays and Saturdays are required as these are Direct Member Service days. although this may be subject to change.
