This is exceptionally powerful! Even just the clip itself is so emotional, raw, vivid, and wow... I can't actually find the right words. Haha, you heard that correctly, I - of all people - is speachless!

I actually found myself crying as it reminded me of when my grandfather was in a coma. While his was not related to a brain injury per se, I found myself totally relating to the man's wife: the hope, the dispair, the frustration, the wanting the 'old' them back, the worry about family, the ...

I will most definately check out the rest of the video and THANK YOU for posting this. I think it brings a real humanity to the experience. I think sometimes it is easy to - even if only for a moment - lose sight of the bigger picture as we get so caught up in the everyday minutia.

This is definately a video - even just the clip - that I will never forget!

bed bugs toronto comments on Co-Creating Awareness Opportunities related to Bedbugs

well, that's a good way to put it, nice insights, works well in clientele explanation and information resource option.

Heather Gallant comments on Worried about Brain Injury? - Reflections on Dr. Gorgens' TED talk

hg

Paula Cassin comments on Worried about Brain Injury? - Reflections on Dr. Gorgens' TED talk

Jesse- Another good video! Thanks for bringing these to our attention. Well -- I have been more aware about brain injury since I started in the field in and around 1988 ( I know -- hard to believe!) During this time, I found myself and my bicycle lying underneath a moving car (thankfully traveling ultra slowly!) without a Helmet. Since that time - I have always worn a helmet and encourage everyone I know. I even stop neighbourhood kids who wear helmets on the back of their heads or around their neck. I put the helmet correctly on their head and tighten the strap! I am popular with the parents ;-) at least.

I just recently learned that helmets have expiration dates! Check yours out -- they don't last forever.

I liked the short story in the video where the speaker shares that her student figured out that a $20 helmet can protect a $100,000 education. A good way to look at it. Even without an advanced degree -- the brain is precious.

I don't worry so much as I used to. I do try to think about safety in most of my activities and I would have to say that as I have gotten older many of my risk taking activities have decreased (down hill skiing, roller blade-ing,touch-football, street hockey, etc) but I continue to drive, climb ladders, carry too much on stairs.

Tiffani Brooks comments on Worried about Brain Injury? - Reflections on Dr. Gorgens' TED talk

tb

Jan Robert comments on Co-Creating Awareness Opportunities related to Bedbugs

Bedbugs indeed have become a problem to households wherever you go. It is quite unfortunate that households are not educated on what to do with them. I hope through this thread you can reach out to the households of how bedbugs affect our lives.

Groom Wedding Speech
